The Cavendish Green Mountain Snow Fleas Snowmobile Club would like to extend our sincere thank you to all the landowners who have allowed their land to be a part of the VAST snowmobile trail system. Your generosity in allowing the use of your land is an essential part of offering the length and diversity of our trail system to the snowmobile travelers in Vermont.

The Cavendish Green Mountain Snow Fleas Snowmobile Club met on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 and elected several new officers. Leon ” Woodie ” Woods decided to withdraw his name for nomination of President after serving forty years in that capacity for the club.  Gail Woods also decided to withdraw her name for Secretary after serving approximately forty years for the club. 

As a result, the club elected J.P. Carlisle to serve as President, Debra Tiernan to serve as Secretary, Gail Woods to serve as Treasurer and Dorothy ” Dot ” Ramsdell to serve as Assistant to the Treasurer.  Leon ” Woodie ” Woods will continue to serve as Trails Coordinator.

The Cavendish Green Mountain Snow Fleas  members wish to extend a sincere thank you to Gail and Woodie for their many years of volunteer service to the club and to VAST.

Cavendish area picked up an additional 2-3 inches of  mixed precipitation overnight so conditions have improved slightly for AM riding. The temperature is expected to rise into the mid 40’s today so conditions will deteriorate as the day progresses.

The Snow Fleas group ride scheduled for Saturday March 3, 2012 has been cancelled. No future date is planned.

The Cavendish area received 9-12 inches of powder over the last twenty four hours. Our crew is out grooming the trails but conditions at best will be fair due to the nature of the snow. Use caution.

Cavendish received only about two inches of snow overnight combined with extremely high winds that will continue throughout  the day.  Riding is not recommended.

The Cavendish Green Mountain Snow Fleas Snowmobile Club will conduct their monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at the home of Dot and Peter Ramsdell, 369 Route 131 in Cavendish.

A dusting of snow last night and warm temperatures today has not changed conditions.  Riding is not recommended.

The VAST Groomer Demo Day is FRIDAY, February 24, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Green Mountain Horse Association in South Woodstock, VT.

Light rain this morning followed by 45-50 degree temperatures this afternoon has pretty much put the lid on what little riding exists for this coming weekend.  In addition, no snow is forecast for the next 5 days.
