The Cavendish Snowfleas will hold their first meeting of the 2010-2011 season on October 13, 2010 at the home of Gail and Leon ” Woodie ” Woods , 16 Parker Avenue in Proctorsville at 7:00 P.M.

Leon Woods, Cavendish Snowfleas President, received notification from VAST today granting approval for the purchase of a new groomer for the 2010-2011 snowmobile season.

VAST Route 12 Closing

February 19, 2010 This is a reminder that the VELCO Project construction work along VAST Route 12 is in full swing and trail closure signs are posted and should be observed for your safety and the safety of the VELCO crews. Our Polaris Ranger Has A New Drag

The Cavendish Green Mountain Snowfleas Club has a new drag for its Polaris Ranger thanks to Big John who constructed a replica of our regular grooming drag. The drag is ten feet long and fifty-eight inches wide with an hydraulic system that was hooked up to the Ranger by Willy. This addition will allow our club to improve grooming on our secondary trail. So, once again, thank you Big John and Willy for helping improve our trail system in Cavendish.

Landowner Appreciation Booklet

Last year the VAST Landowners Committee began a series of meetings to explore ideas on how to thank the gracious landowners who allow us to ride their property. After much discussion the committee decided to develop at great cost to VAST a Value Book of coupons that would benefit snowmobiling and non-snowmobiling landowners as well as the merchants who signed on to the project. Over 140 merchants from around the state signed on to initiate the project. The coupons in the Value Book range from snowmobiling products to non-snowmobiling items such as airplane rides, oil changes, lodging discounts and food offers. Many thanks to the VAST Committee and the participating merchants. Cavendish Green Mountain Snowfleas President and Trails Master Leon ” Woodie ” Woods and Dan Tiernan, trails volunteer and groomer, have contacted and distributed 47 Landowners Appreciation Value Books to Cavendish landowners to date. The remaining booklets will be distributed as soon as possible.

VAST Route 12 Trail Closing
January 22, 2010

The Cavendish Snowfleas Club has been notified by VELCO that road construction will begin along VAST Route 12 in Cavendish around the first week of February. As you know the Snowfleas Club has not been grooming this section of Route 12 this season because of logging and other construction work. ” Trail Closed ” signs will be posted soon so all traffic will be required to use our secondary trail which is in good shape and well groomed. Please co-operate with this directive when in place for your own safety.

Cavendish Snowfleas Food Shack
January 8, 2010

The Cavendish Snowfleas Food Shack will be open for the winter season starting January 9, 2010. The food shack will be open on weekends from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM weather permitting. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and a variety of other foods will be available as well as trail maps.
